White turmeric (Curcuma zedoaria), often called white curcumin, is a plant from the genus Curcuma, the same genus as yellow turmeric. Although they share similar names, they have different properties and composition, with white turmeric having a lower curcumin content and being cheaper than traditional turmeric.[1]
