In this randomized controlled trial, diets enriched in alpha-linolenic acid (an omega-3 fatty acid) or linoleic acid (an omega-6 fatty acid) had similar effects on serum lipoprotein(a). However, the alpha-linolenic diet had more of a beneficial effect on other blood lipids, including LDL-C.
