Hepatic Venous Pressure Gradient

The hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG) is a measure of the blood pressure of the portal vein, a major blood vessel traveling to and from the liver. A high HVPG is classified as portal hypertension, most often the result of liver cirrhosis.
