Gut and Psychology Syndrome (GAPS) Diet

The Gut and Psychology Syndrome (GAPS) diet is a multiphase elimination diet developed by a doctor to treat her son’s autism spectrum disorder (ASD). It’s based on the theory that certain foods cause an imbalanced gut microbiome or “leaky gut” and mood disorders. Despite anecdotal reports of improvement on the diet, it has never been formally researched.
