The Paleo diets studied comprised only of unprocessed meat, fish, eggs, vegetables, fruit, and nuts in variable proportions; control diets were Nordic Nutrition Recommendations, Dutch Health Council guidelines, Mediterranean diet, and a low-fat, whole-foods, "diabetes" diet. Duration ranged from 2 weeks to 6 months. Risk of bias was generally low in all studies.
