Notes for this study:
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 100 women with primary dysmenorrhea were allocated to take 1 g of a Melissa Officinalis extract or placebo daily over 3 days at the onset of menstrual bleeding for two consecutive cycles. During both cycles, both groups saw a notable reduction in pain severity, with the intervention group seeing a somewhat greater reduction, which was statistically significant in comparison to placebo.
