Notes for this study:
In a non-controlled, unblinded trial, 42 healthy participants underwent a ketogenic diet for 6 weeks. The diets weren't energy-restricted and were designed to provide to provide 75% fat, 15-20% protein, and 5-10% carbohydrates with a maximum of 20-40 g of carbohydrate per day.

There was a small but statistically significant reduction in weight, fat mass, fat-free mass, fasting glucose, insulin, and fT3. There was a statistically significant increase in LDL, total cholesterol, fT4 and uric acid.

Exercise tests were also performed. Maximum handgrip strength was significant increased by about 1 kg, absolute VO2 peak was reduced but not relative VO2 peak. Pmax was significantly reduced. Other outcomes can be found in the respective values boxes of the HEM.
