10 obese participants with diabetes maintained their usual diets for a week prior to switching to a ketogenic diet for 2 weeks. The ketogenic diet contained 21 g/d but there were no restriction on the other macronutrients or total calories. All food was provided by the researchers in a hospital kitchen and was precisely recorded.
