In young and healthy lean men on a controlled diet, the substitution of 6g of fatty acids for 6g of fish oil was able to increase fat loss from insignificant over 3 weeks to -0.88 +/- 0.16kg; a minor but significant effect that was associated with increases in fat oxidation but not metabolic rate.
