Rose Hip Herbal Remedy In Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis - A Randomised Controlled Trial
Notes for this study:
|Number of Subjects
Rose hip supplementation at 5g for six months in persons with rheumatoid arthritis appeared to show benefits on a health assessment questionnaire (HAQ) at six months yet not three. While there was a trend to improve overall symptoms of rheumatism by clinician rating and DAS-28 rating, the rating scale selectively looking at pain in joints (HAQ patient pain scale) failed to find any benefit. C-reactive protein trended to decrease but failed to reach statistical significance.
Degree of improvement on the global symptoms reached 30% (physician rating) and 19% (DAF-28) relative to baseline values.
