Consumption of a bread product containing an additional 1,000mg calcium daily for four weeks was able to reduce fecal cholesterol (30%) and its metabolites (32-44%) while increasing fecal bile acid concentrations (14-29%), although the genotoxicity of the fecal water (a biomarker for colon cancer risk) was unaffected.
