450mg of ursolic acid (from rosemary) in three divided doses of 150mg with meals over the course of 8 weeks, in subjects who were physically training (and had a history of training), did not appear to modify body composition more than placebo but increased serum irisin (12%) and IGF-1 (22.8%) more than placebo.
Strength (power output isokinetically at peak torque) was increased more with ursolic acid than it was with placebo.
