Effect Of Vitamins C And E Supplementation On Peripheral Oxidative Stress Markers And Pregnancy Rate In Women With Endometriosis

34 women with infertility & peritoneal endometriosis took either placebo (16 women) or Vit. C + E (18 women, C 343 mg, E 84 mg) daily for 6 months, while taking no other hormonal treatments.
Funding issues for this study:
The participants' plasma at months 0, 2, 4, and 6 was sampled and analysed for malondialdehyde (MDA) and lipid hydroperoxides (LOOHs), which are biomarkers of oxidative stress. The plasma levels of these biomarkers was reduced significantly in the vitamin group, to significantly lower levels than the placebo group's.
The participants were also followed for pregnancy during the trial and for 9 months afterwards. The pregnancy rate wasn't statistically significant between the two groups.
