Notes for this study:
In a 4-week randomized, single-blind, controlled trial, 20 overweight and obese women underwent a high-intensity interval training intervention while taking 1 g of spirulina or placebo daily.

There was a greater increase in nesfatin-1 in the spirulina group, which was statistically significant. There was a non-significant smaller reduction in weight in the spirulina group, and also a non-significant smaller reduction in triglycerides.
