||Mean and SD. Spirulina: before 1.55 ± 1.45, after 1.05 ± 1.06. Cetrizine: before 1.24 ± 0.57, after 1.64 ± 0.79.

In a randomized, single-blind controlled trial, 65 participants with allergic rhinitis took either 2 g spirulina or 10 mg cetirizine for 2 months.
Funding issues for this study:
There was a greater improvement in rhinorrhoea, nasal obstruction, smell, sleep, daily working, social activity, and several cytokines. There was also a greater improvement in nasal itching and sneezing, but the difference wasn't statistically significant.
