2g of Quercetin supplementation increased urinary lactulose in healthy adults subject to heat-shock (physical exercise), and after 7 days this increase in urinary lactulose did not decline and the increase in serum endotoxin became statistically significant. The exercise-induced HSP70 induction was abolished with quercetin.
These results suggest that Quercetin at 2g in combination with heat stressors can impair gut permeability.
