Oral supplementation of 89mg/kg alanylglutamine appears to increase plasma glutamine concentrations with a potency greater than an equivalent amount of glutamine in its free form (60mg/kg), although both supplements followed the same kinetics of peaking 15-45 minutes after ingestion and normalizing within four hours.
