Notes for this study:
In a randomized, controlled trial, 204 type 2 diabetes patients drank 3 glasses of black tea with 1 g of saffron, 3 g of ginger, cardamom, or cinnamon, or only drank the tea, for 8 weeks.

The saffron group didn't see a change in Intercellular Adhesion Molecule-1(ICAM-1) or blood pressure.

The trial was preregistered: IRCT201206185062N5 This is the same trial as "Effects of Cinnamon, Cardamom, Saffron, and Ginger Consumption on Markers of Glycemic Control, Lipid Profile, Oxidative Stress, and Inflammation in Type 2 Diabetes Patients" and as such we haven't repeated any of the shared outcomes in this entry.
