Notes for this study:
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 80 participants with asthma took 100 mg of saffron or placebo daily or 8 weeks.

The primary outcome was asthma severity and the saffron group saw a greater improvement in parameters and required less salbutamol spray. The saffron group saw a greater improvement in LDL and triglycerides, whereas there wasn't an improvement in HDL.
