Yohimbine was hypothesized to help treat phobia and fear of flying by acting as an adrenaline agonist, since it was hypothesized adrenaline played a key role in phobia pathology.
In conjunction with exposure therapy to reduce the phobia, yohimbine was ineffective at altering treatment compared to placebo.
