Time-dependent Effects Of Vitamin K2 (menatetrenone) On Bone Metabolism In Postmenopausal Women

Effect None
Trial Design Double blind
Trial Length 2-4 Weeks
Number of Subjects 40
Sex Female
Age Range 45-64
Body Types Average
Notes for this study:
1,500mcg of MK-4 daily for four weeks in postmenopausal women at risk for bone loss was able to unreliably increase serum levels of phylloquinone but failed to influence vitamin D status.

Dietary records suggest that vitamin K supplementation did not alter food intake, and MK-4 was able to carboxylate marker proteins and thus was said to act as a vitamin.
