1,110mg of a hoodia supplement (79.5% steroidal glycosides) twice daily, each time an hour before a meal, over 15 days in mildly overweight women in a clinical setting noted reductions in energy intake in both groups (placebo by 18% and hoodia by 24%) with the difference not being significant.
There was an increase in pulse rate and blood pressure seen with the supplement, and both bilirubin and ALP were similarly increased.
