In a randomized, single-blinded, controlled (no placebo), 26 patients with type 2 diabetes were randomized to either 2 g of vitamin C per day or a control group that received no intervention for 4 weeks. There were no statistically significant changes for any of the evaluated outcomes, including, fasting glucose, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, total cholesterol, TNF-a, IL-6, or measures of blood flow,
