In this trial, people receiving outpatient care for COVID-19 received either 50 mg zinc gluconate, 8,000 mg vitamin C, both, or standard of care for 10 days. The primary outcome was the number of days required to reach a 50% reduction in symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, and fatigue. Other outcomes included days until symptoms completely resolved, hospitalization, death, and adverse effects.
