Notes for this study:
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 30 participants with OCD were assigned to take ashwagandha extract or placebo for 6 weeks. Participants began with one 30 mg capsule and added one more for a total of 4 after 4 days until reaching a dose of 120 mg/d.

Symptoms of OCD were evaluated via Y-BOCS score and the ashwagandha group saw a notable and statistically significant reduction compared with the placebo group. It was possible that the effect was more potent in patients with comorbid anxiety disorder than those without, however, the difference wasn't statistically significant.
