Pterostilbene On Metabolic Parameters: A Randomized, Double-blind, And Placebo-controlled Trial

Effect Decrease
Trial Design Double blind
Trial Length 1-6 months
Number of Subjects 80
Sex Both Genders
Age Range 45-64
Body Types Obese
Notes for this study:
6-8 weeks of supplementation with either low dose (50mg twice daily) or high dose (125mg twice daily) in adults with high cholesterol noted that in all subgroups (those using cholesterol medications and those that didn't) supplementation of pterostilbene increased LDL and total cholesterol with no influence on triglycerides while improving blood pressure.

Those not on cholesterol medication saw a decrease in HDL but a weight loss effect, while the addition of GSE (100mg twice daily) to low dose pterostilbene mitigated the adverse cholesterol effects and the weight loss.
