Notes for this study:
Consumption of Rooibos tea was able to acutely increase plasma antioxidant capacity by a small amount, 2.9% (fermented) and 6.6% (unfermented) when measured one hour after tea ingestion when consuming 500mL brewed from 750mg of tea leaves; this increase lasted for 5 hours. There was an acute increase in blood glucose with unfermented (21.6%) and fermented (32.0%) teas.
