Effect Of Pomegranate Seed Oil On Hyperlipidaemic Subjects: A Double-blind Placebo-controlled Clinical Trial

Effect None
Trial Design Double blind
Trial Length n/a
Number of Subjects 51
Gender n/a
Notes for this study:
In hyperlipidemic patients, 400mg of Pomegranate Seed Oil (PSO) with an 72% punicic acid content and 36.9mg/100g Vitamin E content over 4 weeks was able to reduce triglycerides and beneficially influence the triglyceride:HDL ratio without affecting HDL (although significance was reached with intergroup difference rather than baseline), LDL, total cholesterol and without significantly influencing anthropometric or glucose parameters.
