In boys with ADHD given 400mg theanine daily (two doses of 200mg) for 6 weeks, the ADHD-related disturbances in sleep appeared to be attenuated. A significant improvement in sleep efficiency (more time asleep relative to awake) and movement during sleep was noted, with trends towards improved scores on WASO. Sleep latency and duration appeared unaffected.
