Effect Of Trifolium Pratense-derived Isoflavones On The Lipid Profile Of Postmenopausal Women With Increased Body Mass Index

80mg of red clover isoflavones (MF11RCE) daily for ninety days in postmenopausal women failed to influence any parameter of lipid metabolism in women with a BMI less than 25, while in those above this weight point there was a significant reduction in apolipoprotein A (63%, but placebo was reduced 42%), total cholesterol (4.7%), and LDL cholesterol (15.7%) with no change in triglycerides nor HDL-C.
