80mg of red clover isoflavones (MF11RCE) daily for ninety days in postmenopausal women failed to influence any parameter of lipid metabolism in women with a BMI less than 25, while in those above this weight point there was a significant reduction in apolipoprotein A (63%, but placebo was reduced 42%), total cholesterol (4.7%), and LDL cholesterol (15.7%) with no change in triglycerides nor HDL-C.
