In 10 healthy and recreationally trained men using L-carnitine L-tartrate for 3 weeks at 2g daily. Recovery was greater as assessed by less muscular damage, and no changes were noted in IGF-1 or Testosterone levels in the LCLT group.
A significant increase in IGF Binding Protein 3 was noted.
