Notes for this study:
In an uncontrolled trial, 42 participants with cirrhosis and muscle cramps took 300 mg of L-carnitine 3 times per day or 4 times for 8 weeks.

While the percentage of participants who reported a reduction in muscle cramps was similar between groups, the 1200 mg group saw a substantially higher rate of complete disappearance of cramps. Average reduction was also greater.
