Effect Of Intravenous L-carnitine On Carnitine Homeostasis And Fuel Metabolism During Exercise In Humans
Notes for this study:
|Number of Subjects
Participants were subjected to three protocols, each conducted in a randomized, double-blind, crossover fashion. All protocols administered l-carnitine intravenously. In the first protocol, participants received 185 μmol/kg of IV l-carnitine or placebo during a 30 minute high-intensity stationary bike workout. The second was identical to the first except that the dose of l-carnitine was reduced to 92.5 μmol/kg. The third was identical to the first except that the intensity was lowered and the duration was extended to 60 minutes.
