Studies related to Muscle Oxygenation and L-Carnitine

Effects Of L-carnitine L-tartrate Supplementation On Muscle Oxygenation Responses To Resistance Exercise

Effect Decrease
Trial Design Double blind
Trial Length 2-4 Weeks
Number of Subjects 9
Sex Both Genders
Age Range 18-29
Body Types Overweight
Notes for this study:
9 healthy subjects ingesting 2g of L-Carnitine L-tartrate daily for 22 days had a reduced forearm muscle oxygenation rate (measured on day 21) as assessed via oclusion and during recovery during a squatting exercise, but not measured during the squatting exercise itself.

Carnitine had a reduced marker of muscle damage and malondialdehyde after a squat protocol.
