Studies related to ST-segment depression and L-Carnitine

Effects Of L-carnitine On Exercise Tolerance In Chronic Stable Angina: A Multicenter, Double-blind, Randomized, Placebo Controlled Crossover Study

Effect Decrease
Values ST-segment depression at maximum work and and maximum common work were both decreased in the l-carnitine group.
Trial Design Randomized trial
Trial Length 2-4 Weeks
Number of Subjects 44
Sex Male
Age Range 45-64
Notes for this study:
In this crossover trial, men with chronic stable angina took 1 g of l-carnitine and a placebo twice daily for 30 days each in random order. 10 days prior to starting the study all cardioactive drugs were withdrawn. At the end of each treatment period participants performed an exercise test on a cycloergometer and time to onset of angina, work to 1 mm of ST-segment depression, blood pressure, maximum work, and maximum work load were measured.
