In persons diagnosed with _Heliobacter Pylori_ who recieved a round of medication to eliminate it and then followed the therapy with garlic supplementation (800mg Kyolic with 4mg distilled garlic oil) or placebo for 7.3 years, there was no significant protective effect of garlic noted in regards to gastric cancer risk.

In a followup study where garlic was used for 7.3 years and failed to reduce precancerous lesions of the stomach, 7.3 years later participants were noted to have a nonsignificant reduction in stomach cancer and esophageal cancer and mortality risk associated with garlic therapy.
