Notes for this study:
Examined thirteen observational studies and three interventional studies. Through the use of a random-effect model, the authors concluded from the interventional studies that supplementation of selenium significantly reduces the risk of preeclampsia. The relative risk for preeclampsia was 0.28 (0.09 to 0.84) for selenium supplementation (p = 0.02).
