In this randomized, single-blind crossover trial, 14 soccer players took 2 g of tyrosine daily or placebo for 2 weeks before crossing over.Funding issues for this study:
On a Wingate cycling test, tyrosine failed to produce improvements in peak power, power maintenance, and mean power. Were wasn't a statistically significant difference in heart rate, lactic acid, blood glucose, noradrenaline, or dopamine. Epinephrine was reduced more when taking tyrosine for those who took it first but not those who took it second.
