Effects Of L-tyrosine And Carbohydrate Ingestion On Endurance Exercise Performance
Effect | None |
Values | Figure 3 |
Trial Design | Randomized trial |
Trial Length | 24 hours |
Number of Subjects | 9 |
Sex | Male |
In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial, 9 competitive male cyclists took placebo, polydextrose, 25 mg/kg body weight tyrosine, or the combination on separate occasions prior to exercise testing.
There wasn't a statistically significant difference in oxygen uptake, heart rate, perceived exertion. Glucose wasn't different among interventions that received the same amount of polydextrose. The combination led to the greatest lactate levels at the end of the exercise. There wasn't a difference in free fatty acid levels among groups with the same amount of polydextrose. There wasn't an effect of tyrosine on performance on the endurance time trial.
