Effect Of Tyrosine Ingestion On Cognitive And Physical Performance Utilising An Intermittent Soccer Performance Test (iSPT) In A Warm Environment

Effect None
Values Soccer, amount of distance covered. First half. (m. Mean and SD). Tyrosine: 4323.6 ± 344.7. Placebo: 4390.8 ± 241.2. Second half: Tyrosine: 4307.6 ± 378.9. Placebo: 4338 ± 322.7
Trial Design Randomized trial
Trial Length 24 hours
Number of Subjects 8
Sex Male
Notes for this study:
In this randomized, double-blind crossover trial, 8 male soccer players took 150 mg of tyrosine per kg of body mass or placebo prior to exercise and cognitive testing.
There wasn't a difference in distance covered during the soccer performance test. Readiness to invest physical effort wasn't different. There wasn't a notable difference in accuracy on a vigilance test, though participants were less likely to miss a queue.

There wasn't a difference for hydration, heart rate, or body heat.
