Supplementation of _nigella sativa_ oil at 1g daily (two doses of 500mg) for the course of one month in females with rheumatoid arthritis was associated with a modest (9%) reduction in symptoms of arthritis as assessed by the DAS-28 rating scale. Morning stiffness, joint pain, and joint swelling were also all significantly reduced.
