The Effects Of Chromium And Copper Supplementation On Mitogen-stimulated T Cell Proliferation In Hypercholesterolaemic Postmenopausal Women

Effect None
Trial Design Double blind
Trial Length 1-6 months
Number of Subjects 29
Sex Female
Age Range 45-64, 65+
Body Types Obese
Notes for this study:
In postmenopausal women with high cholesterol (over 200mg/dL), supplementation of 200mcg chromium daily for three months was able to enhance the proliferation of lymphocytes when they were stimulated by mitogens, but did not influence basal lymphocyte counts after 12 weeks nor did they influence any other immune cell under basal concentrations.

The proliferative property of chromium was ablated by 3mg copper supplementation.
