60g colostrum daily in elite female rowers daily for nine weeks, relative to whey protein as control, appeared to reliably increase blood buffering capacity (assessed by the relationship between lactate and pH) but this buffering capacity was not associated with performance on rowing tests and the actual performance on rowing tests was not affected by supplementation.
