3 tablets (twice a day for four days) alternated with 2 tablets (twice a day for three days), each tablet consisting of 500mg dry weight Cissus (so, 3g for 4 days and 2g for 3 days) was investigated (orally) for its effects on hemorrhoids in 570 hospital patients.

Self-reported side-effects and well being, as well as medical effects, were not different between placebo and Cissus.
