Notes for this study:
Supplementation of a thrice daily horse chestnut supplement (40mg aescin at each dose for 120mg over the course of the day) in persons with hemorrhoids was associated with a significant reduction in symptoms, bleeding, and improvements in endoscopic evaluations. The 32% response in placebo increased to 82% with supplementation, and most benefits were apparent within six days of supplementation.
