Oral Supplementation With Probiotic L. Reuteri NCIMB 30242 Increases Mean Circulating 25-hydroxyvitamin D: A Post Hoc Analysis Of A Randomized Controlled Trial
Notes for this study:
|Number of Subjects
Supplementation of 2.9x10^9^ CFU of _l. reuteri_ NCIMB 30242 twice daily for 13 weeks in hypercholesterolemic adults was able to significantly increase circulating vitamin D concentrations by 25.5% relative to baseline while a decrease occurred in the placebo group.
There was individual differences in the increase (with some subjects not responding), and it appeared that subjects that had larger increases in serum vitamin D tended to have lower C-reactive protein concentrations at baseline.
