Supplementation of 300mg of a water extract of tinospora cordifolia (5% bitter principles) thrice daily for six months in persons with HIV was noted to cause a reduction in eosinophils (30%) and a modest reduction in reproted symptoms, but the main study parameter (an increase in CD4+ lymphocytes) failed to occur alongside failures in increasing neutrophil and monocyte counts.
