Effect of Probiotic Fermented Milk (Kefir) on Some Blood Biochemical Parameters Among Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Diabetic Adult Males in Gaza Governorate

In this case-control study of men newly diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, the treatment group got 1 cup/day of kefir in addition to metformin, and the control group got only metformin. The average HbA1c and fasting blood sugar (FBS) decreased significantly in the kefir group.Funding issues for this study:
The kefir in this study was homemade by participants, from local kefir grains from a Gaza market, with instructions supplied by the researchers.
