Studies related to Lipofuscin and N-Acetylcysteine

The Administration Of N-acetylcysteine Reduces Oxidative Stress And Regulates Glutathione Metabolism In The Blood Cells Of Workers Exposed To Lead

Effect Decrease
Trial Design Double blind
Trial Length 1-6 months
Number of Subjects 171
Sex Both Genders
Age Range 30-44, 45-64
Body Types Average
Notes for this study:
Three months supplementation of 200-800mg NAC (the 400 and 800mg groups divided into two daily doses) in workers exposed to occupational levels of lead is able to reduce lead accumulation in red blood cells and the subsequent oxidative sequelae, as well as improve glutathoine status of red blood cells.
