Effects of Oral Antioxidants on Lesion Counts Associated with Oxidative Stress and Inflammation in Patients with Papulopustular Acne
Effect Decrease
Trial Design randomized
Trial Length 16months
Number of Subjects 56
Sex mixed
Notes for this study:
14 patients , seven males and seven females, were treated with N-acetylcysteine 1200 mg/day orally . The baseline lesion counts decreased from 19.07+6.6 to 9.5+3.59 after eight weeks of supplementation. The N-acetylcysteine group saw a 50% reduction in total lesion counts and this outcome was statistically significant P ≤ 0.05.
